JRC-IPTS

Mark Boden (PhD) is the JRC Action Leader for “Policy Mixes for Joint Programming and Foresight” within the Knowledge for Growth Unit at the IPTS, and is responsible for the ERAWATCH information platform, NETWATCH, and foresight activities. He has been at IPTS since 2002. Prior to joining IPTS he was a Research Fellow with PREST at the University of Manchester, where he worked on various aspects of science and technology policy for more than 15 years. He holds a PhD in the economics of technological change, and has also held visiting research fellowships in Japan and France.

Cristiano Hugo Cagnin (PhD) is a scientific officer at the KfG unit. He is an industrial engineer who has been involved in research projects and consultancy in innovation, business strategy, environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and in the cleaner production approach developed by UNIDO/UNEP, while living in Brazil. In Europe Cristiano has been engaged in business sustainability, innovation and foresight research and practice. He has been involved in a number of foresight exercises and is currently concerned in both supporting mutual learning on foresight across and beyond Europe and in further developing Foresight as a discipline with a view of applying this knowledge in EU projects.

Totti Könnölä (Dr.Tech.), a scientific officer at the KfG unit, is experienced in management, consulting and research on foresight, innovation and sustainability issues. He has previously worked at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, TKK Helsinki University of Technology, The IE Business School and Gaia Group Ltd. His work on issues like strategic intelligence, technology foresight, decision making, evolutionary economics and technological change has been published widely.
